Chronograph Movement
The Piaget Polo Chronograph model houses the new 800P calibre, which is the first mechanical chronograph movement to be entirely designed, developed and produced by the Piaget Manufacture. In addition to the chronograph and flyback functions, this proprietary movement also indicates the hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, date at 12 o’clock and a second time zone. Within the select circle of Manufacture-made chronograph movements, the 800P calibre can be distinguished by its 24 hour dual time-zone display positioned at 9 o’clock, in the place usually reserved for the standard chronograph hour counter. Featuring two barrels and a large screw-regulated balance, this mechanical self-winding movement offers a 52-hour power reserve in activated chronograph mode. Equipped with a column-wheel mechanism and vertical coupling-clutch, the 5.6 mm thick 800P calibre is endowed with all the attributes of a Haute Horlogerie chronograph movement. The signature Piaget finishes – blued screws, circular Geneva ribbing and calibre number – further enhance the exclusive status of the movement.
