Piaget reduces its environmental impact
We have decided to take action to reduce our impact on the environment by ensuring that we use raw materials that have been extracted and processed according to the highest standards and by implementing strong corporate ethics. Piaget's excellence and prestige are not affected by our level of proactivity; on the contrary, Piaget's image and our pride in being part of it are strengthened.
Recycling obsolete sales and communication materials
Instead of incinerating its thirty-one tons of obsolete materials, Piaget decided to recycle them. In the end, it was possible to recycle nearly 20 tons of waste out of a total of 31.3, thus reducing atmospheric pollution and CO2 emissions by 19 tons.
Compensation for CO2 Emissions
Each year, Piaget pays an amount based on the balance of its total annual CO2 emissions to the Climate Care program. These funds are then allocated to projects aiming to protect the environment and help reach the Millennium Development Goals (MDG): energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, improved furnaces and drinking water procurement.
2012: The compensation of CO2 emissions was allotted to South Pole Carbon.
2011: A selection of projects of the Climate Care program received funding from Piaget.
Water and Solar Panels
An array of solar panels has been installed on the roof of our factory in Plan-les-Ouates / Geneva. Our goal is to use green energy to heat the water used in the restrooms on the Geneva site. The energy accumulated by the solar panels heats water to 60° Celsius. An effort to reduce water consumption was put in place at the Piaget headquarters. Only rain water and process water are used for watering gardens.
Approximately 97% of the electricity used at both Piaget Manufactures comes from a hydroelectric source. Piaget uses only FSC-certified paper for printed documents.
Our search for excellence through expertise of luxury goods goes hand in hand with respect for the highest ethical and environmental requirements. Piaget is involved in projects to reduce its ecological footprint, taking concrete measures to reduce its CO2 emissions. These measures are being taken throughout our company buildings, concerning business trips, in the paper goods we use, and in the use of only environmentally-friendly products (gift boxes, shopping bags, User Guides, gift wrap, etc.).
