The ultra-thin movements

Piaget has always made technological innovation as one of its top priorities. The creation in 1957 of the 9P ultra-thin hand-wound movement with a thickness of only 2 mm, soon followed by the arrival in 1960 of the 12P ultra-thin self-winding mechanical movement at 2.3 mm demonstrate the emphasis of innovation. Over 25 ultra-thin movements have been developed for the Piaget collection. Among these is the 1208P calibre, which holds the double record of the thinnest self-winding mechanical movement on the market at 2.35 mm, and the thinnest watch in its category at 5.25 mm.
